Hawaii, 2nd and 3rd September 2013

Monday 2nd September

A bit of a nothing day, started off watching a bit of tennis then went down to the supermarket and stocked up for another three days supply. Can't shop for too much ahead as we walk and have to carry it back to the unit.

Had lunch and then went down for a swim and that's it for the day. I think that we are getting a bit lazy.

It is their Labour day today so the parks and beaches are very busy with a lot of the island families coming out  for the day with all their gear. Shops also busy with all their summer sales.

Looking over pool and yacht harbour at night from balcony.

Tuesday 3rd September

Woke up to a partly cloudy day today as you will see from the photos. Makes a change from the clear blue skies.

PT couldn't go without his binos any longer so we went back to Walmarts and he found a basic pair for $11.00 so thought they would do just for this holiday. He is now happy spotting all the planes.

We then went for a walk over to the Ala Moana beach and park and right to the end to the far swimming beach protected by a break water. We looked back over the yacht harbour to our hotel from out there. Arriving back at our unit for lunch.

Waka's in the Ala Moana park.

Looking along Ala Moana beach

We are always seeing the Asian bride and groom having their photos down on the beach. We think that they are mainly Japanese. They always look so lonely as they never have anyone else with them as though they just come over here on their own and get married.

The far beach out at the end of Ala Moana park about 10 mins walk from our hotel. Diamond Head in the background.

Taken from the park looking over the entrance to the yacht harbour. Our hotel in the centre.

Zoomed in on Diamond Head. We will be walking to the top of the crater in the next few days . Maybe.

This photo taken from our room shows the area we walked today. The beach top right is Ala Moana then follow the park out to the far beach top left  with the break water protecting it from the ocean. All our photos today were taken from this area.

Watched a little more of the tennis and are now off to the beach for a swim. PT asleep and I have left him a note (on his tummy) to say come and have a swim when he wakes up.
